Research summary: His research topics are summarized in the following: Tectonics, Neotectonics, Earthquake Geology, Earthquake Planning and Organization, Neotectonics of Sedimentary Basin Evolution, Paleoseismology, Morphotectonics.

He has also been involved as principal investigator in many Greek, European and international research projects including Earthquake Risk Management and Natural Disasters, Environmental Restoration, Active Springs Studies in large projects (hydrocarbon pipelines, railways, refineries), Hydrocarbon Geology, Hydrogeology.

He has participated in missions and scientific teams that visited earthquake-affected areas after major catastrophic events abroad, as a member of the coordination team of the actions of rescue teams and Civil Protection agencies.
