Research summary:  His main research skills expertise in the field of sediment transport and physicochemical controls of sedimentation; methods of estimation of sediment transport rates; geotechnical and hydraulic interpretation of sediment textures and structures; origin and nature of common seabed forms (i.e., sand waves, ripples, dunes, sandbars, ridges); wave boundary layer formation; sediment transport under steady and oscillatory flows; initiation of sediment motion and Shields criterion; sediment entrainment and suspension; representative seabed features under steady and oscillatory flows; nearshore wave/current processes; formation of  wave-induced currents; long-shore and cross-shore sediment transport.

Additionally, his research covers Marine Geophysical Prospecting (data processing and interpretation): multibeam bathymetry, side-scan sonar imagery, single-channel seismic-reflection sub-bottom profiling, magnetometry, cone penetration testing (CPT).
