Research summary:  His research interests encompass the exploration and evaluation of mineral raw materials, critical and strategic raw materials, innovative and environmental applications of raw materials and industrial by-products, and methods for environmental assessment and remediation.

He has extensive laboratory experience in Greece (University of Athens, Institute of Geological and Mining Research, EKEFE DIMOKRITOS) and internationally (University of Leicester, UK, University of California, Berkeley, USA).

He specializes in modern methods of studying minerals, ores, and rocks.

He has published over 50 papers in peer-reviewed international scientific journals and 25 full papers in refereed international conference proceedings, in addition to numerous abstracts.

His research focuses on Economic Geology, with an emphasis on industrial minerals, Mineralogy, and Applied Geochemistry.

A significant portion of his recent work addresses issues related to the circular economy, sustainable development, and the recovery of critical metals. He has taught nine undergraduate and three graduate courses in the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment.

He has supervised the completion of fifteen bachelor’s theses and two master’s theses. He has been actively involved in numerous committees, including the OMEA of the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment, and has been a member of the organizational and scientific committees of international conferences.
